My Approach
Hi, I’m Alejandra, a compassionate and collaborative therapist dedicated to working with children, youth, and adults.
My approach is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), family systems, narrative therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based interventions. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can grow and thrive. I believe in tailoring therapeutic methods to meet your unique needs and goals, ensuring that our work together is meaningful and effective.
Before becoming a clinical counsellor, I spent several years working in early intervention with children on the autism spectrum. In addition, I have worked with families and individuals facing a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and navigating end-of-life care.
My experience has given me valuable insights into the profound impact of early experiences on mental health and overall well-being. I believe that the relationships and environments we grow up in significantly shape how we view ourselves, connect with others, and navigate the world. By understanding these early influences, we can create opportunities for healing, growth, and resilience.
My goal as a therapist is to create an inclusive and non-judgmental space where we can explore your goals and work toward meaningful change. I see myself as both a collaborator and a facilitator, drawing upon diverse therapeutic methods—including creative approaches like narrative and play therapy—to empower and support you or your child on their journey. Whether we’re addressing life’s challenges or building resilience, I am committed to embracing your unique story and helping you achieve personal growth and well-being.
