Gottman Method Couples Therapy - Level 1 In Process
My Approach
I am passionate about understanding the intricate web of relationships that define our lives – with ourselves, with others, and with our culture. As a result, my approach to therapy is relational and influenced by attachment theory, mindfulness and somatic practices.
I believe the client-therapist connection can serve as a profoundly healing, judgement-free, empowering environment to express your truth. My intention is to hold a counselling space in which you may find more ease in handling life's transitions and challenges, processing deep emotions, and embracing your authenticity. I hope that by starting with curiosity, we might collaborate to draw attention to the various ways you walk through the world, attend to your own experience, and heal yourself and your relationships.
My own therapeutic journey began in an effort to dismantle harmful relationship patterns I was involved in. My personal work entailed shifting from cognitive knowledge to a more embodied, emotion-focused approach to healing. I aim to offer these courageous possibilities to others.
My previous volunteer work and support for persons affected by gender-based violence solidified my dedication to equity, social justice, and trauma-informed practice. I'm committed to fostering an environment where everyone's voice is heard and appreciated.

A little bit about Rachel:
I am a fourth-generation settler in Canada, residing on the unceded territory of the Tsleil-Waututh, Squamish, and Musqueam Nations. I grew up on these lands and find incredible enjoyment and peace when I am exploring the mountains, forests, oceans and islands. In my spare time, I like to do pottery, cold plunges, and yoga. I have a not- so-secret obsession with reality TV but I also appreciate more artistic forms of film and television.
