FAQ

  • Creating and maintaining a counselling relationship can be an incredibly rewarding and fruitful proposition. However, it can be a new and initially uncomfortable process for those who have not seen a therapist before.

The basic process is to fill in an electronic intake form and look over the Informed Consent form which lays out the benefits and consequences of counselling as well as the concept of confidentiality.

From there, your first conversations with a counsellor from Boundless Heart Counselling Group will be to discuss and work together toward your mental health goals. Each counsellor plies a variety of unique methods to which some may work or not gel with your mentality. That is ok; ensuring that you are open and honest with your therapist will help to make finding your preferred method smoother.

  • We have to be honest; therapy is work. Coming to a place of healing is a beautiful endpoint, but that path can be filled with uncomfortable truths and difficult realizations.

However, it cannot be overstated that finding the internal strength to understand and work with the issues that bring you to counselling is, in our opinion, one of the most fulfilling actions of your life.

Tears and difficulties may arise; however, they are precursors to understanding and loving yourself fuller.

  • Confidentiality is an incredibly important aspect of a counselling relationship. All our counsellors hold to the ethical standards set out by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors dictating that, unless there is imminent harm to you or someone that you bring up in session, your discussions are held confidential unless you give permission for them to be shared with organizations for referral or to liaison with medical professional who are caring for you.

  • Each of our counsellors have different rates for the services they provide. The best way to find this information is to visit the Find your therapist page and check out the costs

  • It can! Our Master’s level educated therapists are all certified as Registered Clinical Counsellors through the BC Clinical Association of Counsellors. Many employers extended medical plans will cover sessions up to a stated a dollar amount or session limit.
