With expertise in addressing trauma, psychosis, relationship distress, sexual or gender identity concerns, chronic pain, sleep disturbances, neurodiversity and shame and negative cognitions, Marcus is committed to providing a supportive and understanding environment for healing and growth through insight and emotional processing.

Marcus’ approach is rooted in exploring early childhood experiences alongside current issues, helping clients to uncover connections between their past and present. Passionate about de-stigmatizing life's struggles, Marcus works to help clients understand patterns of self-destruction or negative self-fulfilling prophecy and ancestral legacy and recognize the strengths they possess. By fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust, honesty, and authenticity, he supports clients in connecting with their deeper experiences and understanding their attachment and how it impacts their relationships and activities of daily functioning in a comforting and supportive manner.

Highly client-centred, each session is tailored to follow client's leads, ensuring personalized care that meets the client’s emotional world turbulence as it becomes apparent and relevant in current areas of distress. Although Marcus works predominantly psychoanalytically, he is also trained in emotion-focussed, cognitive behavioural, somatic, and solution-focussed therapies, including motivational interviewing and strengths-based psychological coaching, in addition to mindfulness based stress reduction and mindfulness based therapies and coaching.

A little bit about Marcus

Marcus is dedicated to empowering clients and helping them find clarity and resilience in the face of life's challenges. He is a dedicated coach and not-for-profit leader who likes to volunteer for issues and boards related to environmentalism, mental health, and homelessness, and likes to run and hike in his spare time. Among his close family and friends, he is known for his avid love of reading. When Marcus is not in the clinic, he is often out and about on nature trails, exploring new places to enjoy a meal, and on the odd occasion, gaming.
